Carpathian wine route

Duration: 6 hours

A tour to a region which has been known for its wine since Roman times. We drive you to explore the surroundings of Bratislava with many quaint villages and historic towns. Typical for this region are vineyards on the slopes of the Little Carpathians.

Apart from great wines this area is also known for beautiful pottery and naive art. The tour goes through the ancient royal wine towns of Svaty Jur, Pezinok and Modra, highlighting the most important sights. We will also see how the famous Modra pottery – majolica – is produced.

The highlight of this tour is a visit to Cerveny Kamen (Red Rock Castle) – a wonderfully preserved castle, which ranks among the best preserved in Slovakia, with huge multi-storey cellars, the largest ones in Central Europe.

The tour finishes in the historic wine cellar sampling the best local wines followed by a late lunch with traditional Slovak cuisine in a local restaurant.
